Pediatric Hospitalist Opportunity

Prisma Health Medical Group-Midlands Department of Pediatrics is seeking candidates who are board-certified/board-eligible in pediatrics or PHM to provide clinical care at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Midlands in Columbia, South Carolina. We are a team of 11 physicians and a growing APP team that provides teaching and supervision of residents and medical students from the Floyd School of Medicine(FSOM). Medical subspecialists and primary care pediatricians admit patients to the PHM service, and consultation services are available from all medical and surgical specialties. PHM faculty serve in many leadership roles in hospital operations, quality and research, residency, and at the FSOM.
Preferred qualifications include pediatric hospitalist fellowship training or at least two years of clinical pediatric hospitalist experience. This is a full-time, non-tenure position with a teaching appointment at the Floyd School of Medicine. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.

The Department of Pediatrics has a record of academic achievement, financial success, and high faculty morale. The Department which includes 18 subspecialty divisions along with our freestanding Children’s Hospital presently provides 160,000 patient encounters annually, 10,000 admissions and over 35,000 pediatric emergency Department visits. The Pediatrics Department has been recognized as the best teaching Department for most of the last 30 years. Opportunities in quality improvement, research, and clinical trials exist locally within the Department and systemwide with our “sister” Children’s Hospital in Greenville through our Children’s Care Division.
